#1021 SET REVIEW: Creator 3-in-1 31109 Pirate Ship

Today we're reviewing the new Pirate Ship set that's releasing June 1st! We were very grateful to be sent this by LEGO to review, but our view is unbiased and we aim to provide a unique review from the perspective of a MOC builder and fan of building techniques. We score sets we review out of 100, giving 20 points each for building techniques, part selection, creativity, value for money and minifigures. Check out the images for our full technique analysis!

We've got to say we're pretty impressed with this set - in our opinion it's a must have! It's got it all, not just if you love pirates, but it features interesting and fun building techniques, a great range of parts and some awesome alternate builds! In comparison to the recent 21322: Pirates of Barracuda Bay, although the ship is smaller, for the reduced price you're still getting a very good pirate ship as well as two more solid models (which isn't always the case with 3-in-1 sets). I also preferred a few elements of this - the cannons can be fired from within the ship and overall the colour scheme works better in my opinion (although I'm not influenced by nostalgia for the Barracuda).

What are your thoughts on this new Creator set? Let us know in the comments!

*Prices at the time of posting have not yet been confirmed by The LEGO Group, but Brickset have reported a price of 99.99€ that from other LEGO sets informed our estimate of the UK and US prices.*
