#1089 TECHNIQUES: Hearst Tower technique

Today's technique recreates the Hearst Tower in New York and uses an ingenious combination of pieces to create the building's unique appearance.



Built by Daniel Stoeffler on Flickr, he uses 1x2 modified plates with horizontal arms at various positions in the structure to attach the triangular road signs. The effect is pretty stunning and what's even more ingenious is the way Daniel achieves the edges of the tower. It was important to fill in any gaps, so he uses the sausage pieces' curved shape to position the road signs and make the correct shape.
