#1151 TECHNIQUES: Flipper roof tiles by Toltomeja

Today’s technique is an innovative use for flipper accessories. While these elements usually appear on minifigures’ feet, Toltomeja has used many of these pieces to create textured rooftiles.

The flippers add intricate detail to Toltomeja’s grand castle builds. The construction is relatively simple: Two flippers are pinned through their hollow stud to a mechanical claw. The claw clips on to a flex tube or bar. This subconstruction is repeated and overlapped several times…the effect is impressive, creating unique architectural texturing! What do you think?
