#1184 TECHNIQUES: Wheel roof technique

A simple wheel can be the key piece for creating elaborate roof features, especially for topping off round cylindrical towers.

These examples by James Shields and Søren Johansen show how using any clip piece (here a 1x1 tile with open O, or a bar holder with clip) a round pronged armature can be produced to hold your desired roof tiles in place.

Isaac Snyder has used the classic cartwheel piece as a decorative feature, that proudly finishes off the point of the tower. The cartwheel is ideal as it fills, covers and fits the small round gap made at the top of this roof, whilst looks aesthetically suitable for the buildings architectural appearance.
