#1236 TECHNIQUE DISCUSSION: Vatican City by Rocco Buttliere (@rjbuttliere)

This week's MOC of the Week is an incredible 67,000 piece, 1:650 scale model of the smallest country in the world: Vatican City.

Rocco actually visited Vatican City in November 2019 and has been enjoying reading Renaissance texts, studying the culture and appreciating the architecture. In the words of Rocco himself, "this piece will ultimately serve as a reminder of our shared past and our ever-enduring capacity to overcome adversity and find renewed faith in one another." - which is a great message for 2021!

For more interesting history on Vatican City and pictures of the build, check out Rocco’s Flickr album, and check back on our blog tomorrow for a technique analysis of the full build!
