#1340 SET REVIEW: 10289 Botanical collection: Bird of Paradise

LEGO is releasing a new set in the Botanical Collection line up! Whilst we always suspected there would be additional sets following the success of 10280 Flower Bouquet and 10281 Bonsai Tree, a potted house plant of a tropical flowering plant was a nice surprise.

We were sent this set by LEGO but our view is unbiased and we aim to provide a unique review from the perspective of a MOC builder and fan of building techniques. We score sets out of 100, giving 20 points each for a variety of factors.

Overall this is a nice change and addition to the previous Botanical collection sets. If you have both the previous already, then you should get this to complete your collection. However if you’re looking for a first set into the LEGO floral world, then probably either the Flower Bouquet or Bonsai Tree are better value and more enjoyable build experiences. They both have customisation and opportunity to put your own creative touch into them, whereas this Bird of Paradise is more of a beautiful sculptural piece to build and then leave on display as it is.
