#1448 TECHNIQUES: Leafy tree designs using the plant plate

You can never have too many tree techniques, and today we’re bringing you two techniques that both make use of a common and versatile piece—the plant plate! With a hollow stud and three leaves, this unassuming plate can look lush and vibrant when used in large quantities!
Ciamosław Ciamek on Flickr creates a dense and voluminous tree that combines plant plates with 5x6 leaf pieces in dark green in order to create the impression of shadows and depth.
@dylan_lane_ on Instagram uses a similar technique, but instead of 2x2 cylinders, hose pieces are used. These create a slimmer, more delicate tree and have the added advantage of angling the attached parts in a more natural way. Here, plant plates are used with minifigure hands and pneumatic hoses to create elegant branches!
