This piece, first produced in 1984, is one most of you will recognise thanks to its resemblance to a tap.
As well as the obvious use of a tap for facilities in MOCs, it can also be used to give other details. It is great for greebling (adding details that seem to do something) as the bar parts of the piece allows it to attach to clips. This means it can be positioned in many ways, allowing for a variety of uses such as pipes.
It is also used for fences in MOCs or other walls/structures. For example, in some Minecraft sets, they are used as iron bars created because of its unique shape when multiple taps are combined.
