#1611 SET REVIEW: 76399 Hogwarts Magical Trunk

On it's announcement the Hogwarts Magical Trunk was received with much excitement from the community, and today we find out if it lives up to the hype! We were thrilled to see the set include so many minifigure parts to allow children to create themselves as Hogwarts too, as well as the new parts, prints and recolours that will please AFOLs. The designers truly have done a remarkable job of fitting so much into one small trunk!

Overall we would definitely recommend the set. But we do have some criticism: at $60 the set is a little inaccessible and that the minifigure head prints are a bit too 'young-looking' to be used on AFOLs sigfigs. We hope that if this set sells well (and we have a feeling that it will) that LEGO will make similar sets like this in the future. We'd like to see them include lots of realistic skin tone minifigure parts in sets at cheaper price points (this could be done by excluding / reducing the builds and focusing on the minifigures).

What are your thoughts on this new set? Do you agree with our comments and will you be picking it up for yourself?
