#189 Favourite Brick Friday: 2429 Hinge Plate 1x4 Swivel Top/Base

This week's favourite brick is the 1x4 hinge swivel plate, which is a highly useful piece for builders, because it is the smallest hinge that allows you to angle bricks horizontally.

When multiple are used, they can link up to become a cylindrical shape, allowing you to build circles of any size, and not have to rely on the restrictive circular parts that are on offer. However, a drawback to this are the gaps that are created, but these gaps do decrease when you have bigger circles, so can still look good.

A second used for the piece is to provide texture in the space of regular plates. Add this to the walls of your MOC, and the part that allows the piece to swivel will jut out, creating a unique texture.
