#214 TECHNIQUES - EXPLOSION!

Today's post shows a fantastic recreation of an exploding TIE Fighter, which even has debris falling from it . This technique is part of a MOC called Lothal Highway Terminal by Inthert on Flickr, and you can check it out here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/inthert/35790859020/in/photostream/

This explosion looks so accurate and realistic, its hard to tell exactly how it's made. If I were to guess, I would say it uses a 1x1 brick with studs on all sides, and then the other transparent orange parts that aren't connected just slot into the ones that do. Do you think this is the case? Comment below if you have any other ideas.
