#2429 HISTORY OF: A guide to LEGO Castle Part 1 LEGO Castle is one of the iconic pillars of LEGO original themes. Join us as we take a look at all of the different factions in the Kingdom.

The Royal Knights Introduced: 1995 The Royal Knights are the ruling house of the Kingdom. They were led by King Richard, who led them into battle against the Dragon Masters, the forest Guardians and the Fright Knights. Eventually he died, maybe because of the treason of Cedric the Bull, who once served him. The successor to King Richard is King Leo, who’s married to Queen Leonora and the father of Princess Storm and Prince Edward. Edward is on a Crusade at the moment. Storm wants to be a knight against the wishes of her father. She also has a secret relationship with John of Mayne.

The Lion Knights Introduced: 1984 The Lion Knights are one of the biggest houses in the Kingdom. They are especially known for their courage. Their skill with the longbow is unmatched. They even have a small navy! At the moment their king has vanished leaving their queen in command of their lands and castles.

The Black Falcons Introduced: 1984 Rivalling the Lion Knights are their persistent foes of the House of the Black Falcons. At the moment the two factions enjoy a fragile peace, even sending diplomatic envoys to each other. But unknown to their “friends”, the ones who kidnapped the Lion’s king were actually the Falcons. Kunegunde is the daughter of the previous leader, the famous Black Falcon. The land of the Black Falcons is unforgiving with harsh winters and dry summers. The Black Falcons have a large number of different fortresses.

The Bull Knights Introduced: 2000 The Bull Knights have their home in the Dark Forest. Here they prepare for another attempt at seizing the throne of the Kingdom, mustering their terrifying war machines. Cedric the Bull was the 13th son of a King of a far distant land. After leaving his home because he was unable to inherit, he became a champion of the Royal Knights. But after a failed coup he fled to the Dark Forest with his wife Queen Cedora. His physical strength is unmatched. Weezil was abandoned as a Baby in the Forest, when Cedric found and adopted him. He is the best trailblazer in the entire kingdom. Gilbert the Bad invented and build the war machines of the Bulls.

The Black Knights Introduced: 1988 The Black Knights were at war with pretty much every other faction. The Dragon Masters The Dragon Masters are led by the Wizard Majisto, who rides on Ogwen the dragon. He conquered the Black Knights with the help of Burnabus, his right-hand man. Sir Lance, was once a Black Knight before Majisto took over and he became a Dragon Knight.

The Forest Guardians Introduced: 1987 The Forestmen are a merry band of outlaws, that originated in the Dark Forest. Led by Rob N. Hood these guardians act to preserve the nature in the Kingdom. In recent times a lot of Forestmen have settled in caverns beneath the castles of the other fractions. With their light armour and skill with ranged weaponry, the Forestmen strike from the safety of lush shrubbery. The Forest offers lots of hiding spaces for the Guardians as well as the Bulls.

The Wolfpack Introduced: 1992 The Wolfpack is a feared gang of renegades. Unlike the Forest Guardians they seek only to enrich themselves and don’t care about anyone else's life. While they don’t serve any particular lord or king, they have been known to offer their services to other masters for the right price, but even then, their loyalty is questionable and tied to their personal benefit. This tower is the only known stronghold of the Wolfpack.

The Fright Knights Introduced: 1997 Basil was an honourable knight of the Kingdom. One day he wanted to shelter from a terrible storm in what he believed to be a ruin. But Willa actually set a trap for him. She cursed him with vampiric immortality and turned him into a loyal henchman with her mind control. Now he rides on his dragon Draco into battle for his cruel mistress. Sometimes he breaks free from the mind control and tries to kill Willa. Willa and Majisto share a bitter rivalry. But this wasn’t always the case, they are actually cousins. And there are rumours of them dating in their youth. The service of the Fright Knights doesn’t necessarily end with their death.

The Crow Knights Introduced: 2020 We don’t know a lot about the Crow Knights, except that they are skilled fighters who often participate in the tournaments all across the Kingdom. The Evil Knight (CMF series) has served both Basil and Cedric and loves nothing more than to be a cruel henchman. The scary Knight (CMF series) once served as one of Basil’s loyal knights. Both the Krakens and the Griffins have also been revealed as houses of the Kingdom.
