Alt Text: Slide 1: "Tips & Bricks #2464 MOC of the Week: Mechagodzilla Kiryu by @dera_0503. This Kiju-sized MOC deserves a full breakdown! Let's deploy" Slide 2: "This MOC is based on the fan-favorite character from the Godzilla franchise, more specifically the version from the 2002 film Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla. As you can see, it's absolutely massive and highly accurate!" Slide 3: "The part usage in this MOC really pulls from a lot of different areas of LEGO. 22410 (Rover Wheel), 30647 (Jack Stone Exhaust Pipe), 1873 (Ice Pick), 54930 (Light Brick), 1686 (Buildable Figure Shoulder Pad)" Slide 4: "Just like in the movie, Kiryu has a detachable backpack unit with arm cannons. Each shoulder cannon uses four spring loaded shooter elements." Slide 5: "Despite its size, this build can nail just about any pose you can throw at it! Because of its weight, the MOC relies heavily on the older ball joint system and a whole lot of technic! 57909, 67695, 98577" Slide 6: "Mechagodzilla is about a foot and a half tall, placing it at about 1/144 scale. This is the same scale as HG (High Grade) Gunpla models, making it a great fit for anyone’s mecha collection!" Slide 7: "Just the overall level of craftsmanship in this MOC is absolutely insane! There are so many incredible connections that don’t seem like they should work, but they just do!" Slide 8: "Quite a bit of trial and error went into getting the build to look as good as it does, with extra attention going to the head. Since the head is the most recognizable part, it was designed first so that everything else could be scaled around it." Slide 9: "This MOC took almost two years to design and build, and it sure came a long way in that time! This is the first version of the build, and it barely even resembles the finished model." Slide 10: "Make sure to give DeRa a follow if you enjoyed today's post, because even more incredible Godzilla MOCs from him are on the way! Do you think LEGO should try an official Godzilla set? Let us know in the comments!"
