This week's favourite brick is the 1x2x1 modified brick with studs on the side, that was introduced in 2016 and has featured in 105 sets since then.
This piece is superior to the other SNOT (Studs Not On Top) pieces available, as it can be stacked and still used to attach bricks sideways. The other bricks have to be combined to do this, and as seen in the picture, one of the pieces has a 2x2 base, so this sticks out and makes using it more difficult.
This piece has a height of 5 studs, and a 2 stud wide plate can be attached to it. This means that bricks can be attached securely to it, as a plate a 1x2 plate is exactly 5 plate width in length.
The piece is therefore great to use as it can be easy to use in any situation. It is now heavily used in official LEGO sets such as Brickheadz.
