Today's technique is by Kevin Wanner who's MOC of the Scarif beach from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, was featured on the Beyond the Brick YouTube channel.
The MOC uses many great techniques, but my favourite is the flex tubing Kevin has used for the palm trees. It is hard to make palm trees in LEGO, as positioning the leaves in way to make a decent foliage can be hard.
However, as you can see from the picture and the Youtube video where he takes a tree apart, Kevin has cleverly used flex tubes. The leaf elemtetns he chooses have clips, and therefore can connect to the flex tubes. These tubes are then bent into a curve, and secured by a 1x1 modified brick with studs on all sides.
