This technique may look complicated, but it's actually pretty simple when you break it down. Each component is made from roughly the same bricks; a 1x2 -1x4 bracket and 1x2 technic brick primarily. These bricks in particular are important, because the bracket creates the grey divide or cement between the stone while the technic brick allows the components to connect together.
Tammo has used this technique in his ‘Claw Viper Temple’ MOC, and it would work well for other historical sites or old buildings.
