This week's favourite brick is the common technic half pin, which hopefully you have plenty of lying around as they're usually spares included in most LEGO sets.
As well as being essential for technic builds, they also have a number of other uses. In official LEGO sets they're commonly used for weaponry such as pictured on set 75104 Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle, because of their ability to attach to bars and provide more detail. Finally, the half pins are essential for a lot of techniques in general such as the storage container pictured. This is again due to their hollow shape which allows them to connect to bars, but the stud and technic connector allow for other connections too.
