#830 TECHNIQUES: Unique palm tree trunks

We've discussed how to build palm trees quite a few times on this blog, but today we're sharing two unique methods of creating the iconic trees' trunks.

The first is made by jarekwally for New Elementary who utilises the new crown piece. Slotted onto a flex tube, it creates the perfect texture for the palm tree trunk. The second technique is by Filler Brick on Flickr who uses various 2x2 curved slopes in dark orange and brown to create an even more interesting texture. Stud Not On Top bricks are used to angle the slopes, with their angle being varied to create the uneven texture.
