Today's technique is by Brick Monkey and uses 1x2 plates and 1x1 studs in transparent colours to create an impressive wave. This is all made possible by the inclusion of 1x1 studs, as their rounded shapes allows the 1x2 plates to be angled to create the curve.
Varying colours of pieces are used, with dark blue at the base, which smoothly transitions into the lighter colours towards the tip of the waves.
