Content Warning: Harry Potter
Today’s review is a look at two of the sets from the delightfully charming wave of Harry Potter sets. We were sent this set by LEGO but our view is unbiased and we aim to provide a unique review from the perspective of a MOC builder and fan of building techniques. We scored this set out of 100, giving 20 points each for a variety of factors.
First we take a look at the Fluffy Encounter that includes our first LEGO fluffy since 2001’s set 4706 Forbidden Corridor. The excellent architecture is a sign of things to come in this new wave, where the builds are far more aesthetic with very clever part usage and pretty shapes. Fluffy steals the show for techniques here, while the main trio’s figures are all excellent additions.
Next is the Polyjuice Potion Mistake set, a personal favourite from this new wave. The cat Hermione figure steals the show here as one of the most adorable minifigures ever, while such an iconic setting is perfectly captured on such a small scale. LEGO went above and beyond with the minifigures here, while the techniques are also great for such a small set.
Overall this new wave of Wizarding World sets are an excellent addition to the LEGO Harry Potter-verse. The stylistic minifigures and excellent buildings create a wave unmatched by prior Harry Potter lines.
Make sure to hang around for the next part of our review for this wave!
