We're sharing a spaceship door mechanism by Tim Goddard, who kindly supplied us with the raw videos. The technique uses technic actuator s(https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=92693c01&name=Technic,%20Linear%20Actuator%20Mini%20with%20Dark%20Bluish%20Gray%20Head%20and%20Orange%20Axle&category=%5BTechnic%5D#T=C) which is a part we'd never heard of, but they allow the liftarms to be retracted to open and close the spaceship door.
