#1185 TECHNIQUE ANALYSIS: ‘The Road to the Dimholt’ by great.brick

Today we're sharing a small yet detailed build by great.brick on Instagram. It depicts a scene of the heroes from Lord of The Rings starting on the Paths of the Dead.

There are two standouts techniques to us: firstly the floor. A rugged texture is created by using not only round tiles and studs but 1x1 slopes on their side, connected to minifigure hands to spread them out. The second highlight is the rockwork, which uses lots of studs purposefully on show to create the textured surface. The slopes used are also angled using ball joints and clips, allowing the builder to create a random and natural rock formation.
