#1685 SET REVIEW: 76408 12 Grimmauld Place

Today we’re reviewing the brand new LEGO set depicting a long awaited location from the Wizarding World: 12 Grimmauld Place! The ancestral home of the pure blood Black family, this set is a new concept for LEGO and showcases the most interesting part of this house: the way it appears (magically of course) from between its neighbors. The designers use a combination of clever techniques to achieve this effect!

We really enjoyed this set, though it did look bigger in the release photos. The real build was much more compact, but very sturdy when moving it around by the base. The back of the build that is open like a dollhouse but feels cramped with a whopping 9 different rooms in 12 Grimmauld Place. We wish there may have been less rooms in favor of more detail, but the details we do get are quite interesting, most notably the famous Black family tree tapestry.

For ‘Value for Money,’ we felt that the price per part ratio was okay at about 9 cents but the minifigures really add the most value to this set for collectors and Harry Potter fans

Overall, this is an excellent play set and where the set may lack in piece count, it makes up for in a great selection of 9 minifigures, all of which the part combinations are new. As always, let us know if you will be buying this set day one, or skipping out on it and why!
