Updated: Apr 6

Koalas in space! Didn’t think you’d ever see that, did you? Yet, Jonah on Flickr set out on a mission - to make a new space rover for every day this February. The result is Febrovery, and we are obsessed with the adorable koala society created out of LEGO! We picked some of our favorites, but you should go check them all out on Flickr.

#2350 MOC OF THE WEEK: Koala Space Society by Jonah on Flickr This image depicts Koalas in space on tiny brickbuilt rovers!

Eucalyptus Harvester Rover The first thing you need to know about koala society is their love for eucalyptus! Image depicts a blue and trans green rover with a crane arm to pluck eucalyptus from a brick built tree. The eucalyptus is represented by a medium lavender 3 leaves piece. The koalas use this rover to harvest the eucalyptus off the trees. One koala pilots the rover, while another operates the grabber arm and drops the leaf into the container on the back. The leaf is then transported to the processing center.

Snow Plow Rover But how does a koala get across the planet for all that sweet eucalyptus? They use a snow plow, pictured here in a white, blue, and trans orange color scheme. Some great NPU too includes a boomerang for part of an antenna and a flag for the plow. The koalas use this rover to clear any snow that falls on the planet. They use the plow on the front to push the snow out of the way and make a path for the other rovers to drive on.

Police Rover This red, orange, and green boxy rover is built in a similar aesthetic to set 6927 ATV from 1981! A squirrel holds a eucalyptus leaf, while the koala police holds up a laser gun to catch the thief. Drop the leaf and put your furry paws up! The koalas use this rover to catch all of the eucalyptus thieves on the planet. The detachable rear prison pod contains the nefarious leaf thieves until they can be brought to justice.

Vacation Rover All of that work… space koalas need time off too! This rover has a geometric dome piece to house the koalas. They are surrounded by purple and pink trees built with tentacles and the new fern piece. The koalas rented this rover when visiting a distant futuristic space colony for holiday.

School Bus Rover This cute rover is the perfect mix of a spacecraft and a school bus with its yellow and black colors. It includes a STOP sign piece that only came in one niche set - a 4+ from the movie Cars! The koala parents stand on the side, thinking “I sure hope Billy packed his peanut butter and eucalyptus.” The space koalas use this rover to transport groups of koalas to koala school. There they will learn about all the different types of eucalyptus.

Ice Cream Rover This rover has a medium azure and trans-neon orange color scheme with a giant brick built ice cream coming out of it! The dome of ice cream uses a UniKitty part - Part 49308pb001 turned around. The koala paying for ice cream has an 100 dollar bill tile. Seems expensive for ice cream. Signs of a poor economy for the Koala Space Society? The koalas can buy a delicious ice cream treat from this rover. Their favorite flavor? Eucalyptus, of course!

Racing Rover Koalas can have fun too! What do they use for sports betting? You guessed it, eucalyptus. This sleek rover looks more like a regular race car, but with antennas sticking out. Nice exhaust pipes are formed with the metallic silver macaroni brick. The koalas use this rover to compete in racing events all over their planet. With a sleek and aerodynamic shape, this is easily the fastest rover on their home planet.

Ambulance Rover This boxy rover is white and red with a plus sign on the sides. The ambulance rover has space for a driver and an interior. The koala has an ingot pillow to rest on. The doctor koala has a needle, which makes the patient think that the needle better be full of eucalyptus. The koalas use this rover to find and rescue any injured or hurt koalas. The injured koalas can be put in the back section of the rover where they can recover.
