#2692 DISCUSSION: A guide to LEGO animals part 1

In the last 17 years, LEGO revolutionized their LEGO animal moulds. But there is still a lot that can be improved and we want to shed light on the facts.

In this part we take a look at the criteria of what can be considered a LEGO animal in our discussion and how they evolved in the last 30 years. We also explore if there is a bias in the featuring of domesticated animals, their geographical range or their distribution of aerial, marine or terrestrial animals.

We want to examine if LEGO prefers certain types of animals, and how they express, for example insects, differently. In another part we want to feature problems with featuring certain animal’s stereotypes and offer Ideas to improve legacy moulds such as the frog, scorpion and similar.

Most of the animal information was sourced from Wikipedia.
