Firstly, this technique creates the wake of a powerboat in an interesting way. Usually, only transparent parts are used, but Markus has actually used solid white bricks for the wake and built them up to achieve the height. This creates a great colour that perfectly matches that of a natural wave, especially with a slight shadow on the bricks.
This couples with a few transparent clear 1x2 plates attached and transparent light blue studs behind the wash make this a really great looking technique that's worth remembering if your want to create wash.
