#648 TECHNIQUES: Thin tree designs

Today we're sharing two designs for trees with thin trunks; they are both very unique compared to other designs such as those in official LEGO sets.

The first design by Mountain Hobbit on Flickr is very simple; it consists of a singular flex tube connected to the base of the MOC via a jumper plate (a tile with 1 open stud). 6x5 and 4x3 leaf pieces are then attached at various points on the length of the flex tube, with some brown minifigures adding details of branches. The second design by Luke Watkins Hutchinson on Flickr is a similar design, but uses multiple flex tubes that have been bunched together with an elastic band. Luke then simply connects the leaf pieces to create the canopy.
