#702 TECHNIQUES: Stone wall technique

Today we're sharing an ingenious wall technique by Tim Schwalfenberg on Flickr. It's fairly complicated in it's construction, so if you're interested in building it yourself then check out this post for all the steps: https://www.flickr.com/photos/112058573@N02/28951532882/in/photostream

Despite being complicated, it can be broken down into the key principle of using headlight bricks to create a ½ plate gap between the columns. This is done by using 2 rows of them as pictured, with one row positioning the other on the side. From this, the columns are at different levels, allowing for the placement of the clips at the correct height to then attach 1x2 tiles, creating the stone wall pattern.
