#816 TECHNIQUES: Studded landscapes

In today's post we're looking at how you can cover large spaces of your MOC with dynamic and realistic landscapes.

The example is by Styygron and depicts two travellers trekking through the countryside. He uses plates in mainly bright green, but adds variety with occasional dark green and olive green patches. He slowly builds the gradient using layers of plates, which is part intensive but looks very natural. Furthermore, slopes are dotted throughout the landscape to provide contrast against the studs, which in turn create an uneven texture for the ground. There's so much more to the MOC, with a rocky path and flowing river that contribute to the landscape.
