Today we're reviewing Kylo Ren's Shuttle, set 75256, part of The Rise Of Skywalker waves of sets. In our reviews we aim to provide a unique take on the set, looking more from the perspective of a collector and MOC builder. We give sets a score out of 100, giving 20 points each for building techniques, part selection, creativity, value for money and minifigures.
We were kindly sent this set by The Lego Group, but all our views will be as unbiased as possible. There's no doubt they've received criticism in the past for remaking sets, but we have to say that we believe this set is a significant and justified upgrade. It may repeat some of the same techniques but also boasts the correct colour scheme, an ingenious mechanism to angle the wings and an excellent set of minifigures. On top of this, other sections have been updated due to new pieces, with some great greebling on the top of the main body. As mentioned, the mechanism to fold the wings is a real highlight; by turning the engines, technic axles connected to suspension rods angle the wings. This feature can even just be activated by picking it up due to the weight of the wings which is an excellent. Theses features combined it's striking aesthetics and reasonable price make it a set we'd recommend for any Star Wars fan's collection.
What are you thoughts on this set? It's a shame it wasn't featured in Episode 9 much at all but we're a big fan of the design and are pleased it's finally been done justice.
